NOTA / SUPIMA COTTON MEETING
On Tuesday evening, I had a Teams talk with Marc and Jason from SUPIMA. Supima cotton is a superior type of cotton grown in the USA. It represents less than 1% of cotton grown in the world.
I would like to thank both Marc and Jason for their time, expertise in the cotton world and for just being genuine, caring and nice people.
Myself and Marc connected via an Instagram post shared by The Business of Fashion. After discovering we both had very similar agendas in wanting companies to be more aware of their bad supply chains within clothing production, we thought it would be great to discuss ideas. With that, we had an hour chat.
Marc and Jason are the most knowledgeable people I have spoken to when it comes to how cotton is produced, sourced and sold, while also having a clear aim of wanting to achieve change for the greater good, within the fashion supply chain and for our planet.
Thank you both very much for taking the time to talk with me, it really was appreciated and extremely educational.
